Center Receives High Marks for 2013 Virginia Biomass Conference

DSC015612013 Virginia Biomass conference participants filled the Virginia Room at Longwood University. Participants’ comments included the following:

“Hey there! Just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that the meeting was really, really great! Awesome job pulling together such a diverse and knowledgeable group. I enjoyed the diverse perspectives. Looking forward to the next steps…whatever they may be.”

“Thank you all your efforts in planning and leading the Long Wood conference today. My compliments on a job well done. Celia and I enjoyed meeting like minded folks and picking up new information. Long Wood facilities were excellent!”

DSC01563“Congratulations; you all did a great job in putting together an informative program. Hope that field trips today worked as well as sessions yesterday. It is interesting to see the changes in biomass energy technology and see new faces in the mix. Was also great to see folks who have been involved in the grass bioenergy effort in Virginia since 2005/06 @ National Conference @ IALR to help develop NWSG as a cash crop for Virginia land owners. We are making progress and as the Mayor of Warrenton so apply stated at lunch it is a long slow process to make changes in the status quo —again with your collective help…”

Good event, well done”

Center staff is putting proceedings together and will post those soon. Also, implementation items including policy and possible legislation will be posted here in the weeks ahead.
