Northern Piedmont Community Foundation Awards Grant to StreamSweepers to Use Volunteers to Clean Small Streams and Rivers of Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock Counties, VA

Friday, the Center received a wonderful letter from the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation notifying us that our proposal: StreamSweepers – Restoring the Upper RappahannockĀ  has been funded. Funds from the Foundation will be used for critically needed equipment infrastructure and for labor needed to create and manage an Earth Month Volunteer Clean-up of portions of the river including work with Partners Dominion Energy, Trout Unlimited, Friends of the Rappahannock, Highland School, Goodwill, and others. Sweepers like Austin (below) get silly when their summer jobs are funded by landowners and watershed supporters like the Path Foundation!
