Steve Wooten

IMG_1164Steve grew up on his family’s farm in Buckingham County, Virginia.   He is an avid outdoorsman and spends much of his spare time fishing and hunting in Central Virginia.   Growing up in Buckingham he developed a passion for kayaking and fishing the upper James.

Steve has been married for 25 years and has a daughter and son ages 19 and 16.   His family enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, and water-skiing.  He and his wife serve as the county coordinators for the Powhatan 4H shooting team, which consists of instructing a team of 30 youth (ages 9 to 19) how to safely shoot shotguns, rifles, and archery equipment.   The team competes in statewide 4H shooting events.  Steve has served as the team’s archery coach for the past 9 years.

Steve received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Longwood University in Farmville VA.  He is currently Vice President – Information Technology at Dominion Energy, where he has been employed since April 1987.  In his role, he is responsible for IT applications, IT infrastructure, and cyber security operations.  He also serves on the board of directors for a Credit Union.
